The community is mourning the loss of Tullahoma High School junior Brodie Minor after he was killed in a crash involving his motorized bike Saturday evening.

A candlelight vigil for Minor, 16, is set for this Wednesday night at 8 p.m. at the high school football stadium. Meanwhile a growing memorial has been set up near the scene of the fatal accident near the intersection of Stone Boulevard and Ridgelawn Place. The particulars of the crash that claimed the teen’s life have not been revealed as the highway patrol has not released a report on the crash. Donations to help the family and in remembrance of the teen can be directed through the high school.

Along with being a well-liked student at Tullahoma High, he was also a successful wrestler and had made the Tennessee National Wrestling team over the summer, making him one of the top wrestlers in his weight class.

“Brodie grew so much this past year,” said Tullahoma High School Wrestling Coach Bob Callison. “He was an incredible teammate and classmate here in Tullahoma.”

The coach recalled Minor as a giving person who made others around him smile.

“Our community is mourning the loss of this young man as he meant a great deal to us all,” the coach said. “Brodie was unique in his ability to make other people laugh and smile. He was free as he knew exactly how God had made him and shared himself with others. We will always remember him and be grateful the time we had with him.  We are continually praying for his family, our THS Wrestling Team, our School and our community.”
