The Pancake Breakfast is set for 8-10 a.m., Sept. 28, at the Mercantile Café in Manchester. The Imagination Library of Coffee County invites community members to attend the nonprofit’s fundraising event to raise funds for books for Coffee County children, including Tullahoma.

ILCC Chairperson Bertha Smith encouraged locals to support the initiative.

“We welcome the community to attend the Pancake Breakfast in support of the Imagination Library of Coffee County’s continued work to provide free books to our youth from birth to kindergarten,” Smith said. “The early exposure to reading is vital to the future academic success of a student. The delicious breakfast provided by Renee and her team at The Mercantile is an added bonus!”

Proceeds will benefit the ILCC, with all funds going toward purchasing books for local children. Every month, the Imagination Library of Coffee County provides books for about 3,000 local children newborn to 5, at no cost to their families. All ILCC board members are volunteers, and they work to raise funds through local fundraising events and applying for grants.
