Arnold Engineering Development Complex leadership honored military and civilian government team members for their contributions and achievements in 2024 during the AEDC Annual Awards ceremony Feb. 13, 2025.

The ceremony took place at the Arnold Lakeside Complex on Arnold Air Force Base, headquarters of AEDC.

“I imagine everybody else heard what I heard, and that was ‘capability – delivery, capability – delivery, capability – delivery,’” said AEDC Commander Col. Grant Mizell following the announcement of the award winners. “Every single team here, every single individual, all of AEDC, we are moving in the same direction and that is to put weapons in the hands of the warfighter, to put technology out there that our DOD can use to make sure that we are a safer, more secure country and we’re making sure that our democratic ideals stay in the driver’s seat around the world.

“I love hearing the narratives on those awards. Every time I hear something really cool, I want to be out there with you. I want to be in that lab. I want to be in that test cell.”

The award recipients are:

Airman of the Year: Senior Airman ZeNya Green, 704th Test Group

Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Tech. Sgt. Trenton Hohenwarter, 846th Test Squadron

Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year: Master Sgt. Kevin Amberson, 746th Test Squadron

Company Grade Officer of the Year: Capt. Nathaniel Raquet, 586th Flight Test Squadron

Field Grade Officer of the Year: Maj. Joshua Lee, 746th Test Squadron

Category I Civilian of the Year: Laurie Burger, 717th Test Squadron

Category II Civilian of the Year: Jason Casebolt, 704th Test Support Squadron

Category III Civilian of the Year: David Powell, 719th Test Squadron

Non-appropriated Fund Category I Civilian of the Year: Ava Maloney, Test Support Division – Services

Non-appropriated Fund Category II Civilian of the Year: Steven Speece, Test Support Division – Services

Exceptional Innovator of the Year: Boundary Layer Transition Team, 846th Test Squadron

Annual Technical Achievement Award: DM6 Test Team, 716th Test Squadron

Annual Safety Achievement Award: Todd Lemay, 719th Test Squadron

Members of the Contracting team, known as AFTC/PZ Arnold, who support AEDC were also recognized during the ceremony for winning annual Air Force Test Center and Air Force Materiel Command Contracting awards for fiscal year 2024. Those recognized during the AEDC Annual Awards ceremony were:
