Tree knocks out power for 200 DREMC customers
Duck River Electric customers got quite a shock Sunday morning when a tree caused an outage.
According to Duck River Electric Membership Corporation (DREMC) officials, a large tree fell across a three-phase line along the area of Perry Road and Powers Bridge Road in Coffee County, which caused an outage affecting approximately 200 DREMC members. DREMC officials added that crews were working to make repairs and restore service safely and quickly.
“Over the past several days, severe thunderstorms, strong wind gusts, heavy rains, and (threats of ) tornadoes moved across and near Middle Tennessee and areas served by the cooperative,” DREMC officials said. “We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of our crews and those working behind the scenes to assist them and our members.”
DREMC officials also said it was sending prayers to those who have lost loved ones and have suffered property damages as a result of these storms, as well as sent prayers for the neighboring communities as they recover from the impacts of the past week’s devastating weather.
“We appreciate your patience as DREMC crews continue working to restore power, and please continue to be mindful of the flooding conditions in the area.”
