Business boom – City issues record business licenses

Business is a booming in Tullahoma as it was revealed the city set a record for applications for new business licenses this past year.
City Administrator Jason Quick told the mayor and aldermen in their latest meeting that the fiscal year ended recently, revealing there had been 186 business licenses issued.
“That’s the most the city has ever done,” Quick revealed, noting that is a 26.4% increase than the year before.
In addition to business licenses, Quick revealed new construction permits during June totaled $5.4 million.
He pointed to the recent opening of LivSmart Studio by Hilton July as a sign of the robust business being done in Tullahoma. The hotel is the first of its kind. And, not far behind is the completion of the Marriott near the Holiday Inn which is set to be finished in the fall.
On the subject of business, it was revealed the city has received 17 applications for the executive director job of the Tullahoma Area Economic Development Corporation. The porthole will stay open until July 31 after which time the city will begin looking over the resumes.
