Public works to begin road surfacing project
City officials have announced that the Public Works Department will soon begin its FY25/26 fall and spring road surfacing projects, which will consist of six miles of paving and resurfacing.
According to Community Engagement Officer Lyle Russell, the list of 19 roads that are scheduled to be resurfaced starting in the fall may be added to or deleted from at any time by the Tullahoma Public Works Department within the time frame of the contract with Rogers Group, Inc. He added the list was also subject to change based on weather conditions or immediate need changes in planning.
Russell added the city will post any closures on the city’s social media pages and website as necessary.
In total, the approximate miles of schedule paving is 6.04 miles, and the total cost of the scheduled paving is $1,463,863.07.
The following streets are scheduled to be resurfaced in this contract period:
• Astrid Street – from Washington Street to Davidson Street
• South Anderson Street – from East Lincoln Street to East Carroll Street
• South Franklin Street – from West Waggoner Street to city limits
• Ham Street – from North Anderson to East Lincoln Street
• Kensington Lane – from Kingsridge Boulevard to the cul-de-sac
• Castlewalk – from Kensington Lane to dead end
• Chadsworth Place – from Castlewalk to dead end
• Ragan Street – from West Lincoln Street to Bel Air Drive
• Davidson Street – from Astrid Street to Brown Street
• Hunter’s Court – from Hunters Ridge Drive to cul-de-sac
• Hunters Ridge Drive – from Ovoca Lake Road to cul-de-sac
• Leona Street – from Helen Street to Broadrick Street
• Old Estill Springs Road – from Yeager Street to city limits
• Red Bud Lane – from Crestwood Drive to Bragg Circle
• South Washington Street – from East Decherd Street to East Volney Street
• White Oak Street – from Bel Air Drive to West Grundy Street
• Westlake Place – from Blue Lake Drive to cul-de-sac
• Blue Lake Drive – from West Lincoln Street to dead end
• Blue Ridge Avenue – from West Lincoln Street to Blue Lake Drive
