THS girls’ soccer starts 2025 undefeated

Following an impressive 2024 season, the Tullahoma girls’ soccer team have started the 2025 season 2-0, with wins over Riverdale and Shelbyville Central High School.

The THS soccer program is becoming one to be feared in TN. They defeated Riverdale 4-1 and Shelbyville 2-1. As a group, they are coming off a regional playoff appearance for the second consecutive season and look to have the pieces to make it three this year. Head coach of the THS team, Richie Chadwick, knows his team is more than capable of completing this feat, but he and his team are just taking it game by game. He believes his team has matured collectively in all having this mindset.

Senior McLayne Bobo, who was the goal leader last season for Tullahoma, is looking to repeat this scoring title in her final season at Tullahoma. Through the first two games, she has four goals, two in each game.

“In sports psychology, they call it flip a switch. Mentally, you’re on, you block out things. You just kind of let your natural ability take over a game. And she just has that switch. When she is on, she can create a lot of things,” said Coach Chadwick on Bobo’s hot offensive start to the 2025 season.

Another couple of players that have stood out for Tullahoma thus far are sophomore Kenzie Farrell and junior goalie Anzley Holloway. Farrell scored a goal in the season opener against Riverdale and has shown growing confidence on the pitch in her second year. Holloway can also be grouped into that category of players on the Wildcats’ roster, showing gained confidence as a player in the 2025 season. She has been a reliable presence thus far in the THS net, only allowing two goals in the team’s first two matches.

“The confidence in herself she always had, it’s just confidence in that role. Like you know, right now I’m GK #1 so I need to do this, this, and that, “said Coach Chadwick regarding Holloway.

Chadwick also credited Holloway’s high-level play thus far from learning and training with last year’s starting goal keeper Claire Fogarty. Fogarty is currently attending college at the University of the Cumberlands and is in the running for the starting goalkeeper job.

Tullahoma this week will look to add two more wins to their schedule as they take on Lincoln County on Tuesday and Coffee County on Thursday—a perfect lead-up to the 100th Coffee Pot being played on Friday night.
