Restrictions on vape shops is necessary

Editor’s Note: The following Letter to the Editor was submitted by students at Tullahoma High School as a project to write a professional letter. This letter refers to the story “City considers regulating vape shops.”

As a group, we all agree that it should not be nearly as easy to get vapes and that the stores should be way more strict on who they sell merchandise to. We think that vaping is too normalized and it is sad to see that we, as a community, let this get so out of hand. To us this means that we should be more careful and conscientious of what is happening in the community and how to solve the problems we find.

We also believe that there should be way more restrictions on how much THC is actually within the vapes that get sold. On the basis of how much THC is within the vapes, we believe that some of the vapes testing out at 99.9% THC is way too high. This is shown in the passage by, “We’re getting vapes off of students right now that are testing out, that we are physically testing ourselves that are testing out at 99.9% THC.”
