Babe Ruth Baseball Returns to Tullahoma, Building on a Tradition of Success

Babe Ruth Baseball has officially returned to Tullahoma, and excitement is building as two teams of 13- to 15-year-old players compete this fall. The program has already played four games and is showing the promise of what leaders hope will grow into a long-term success story.

Babe Ruth is no stranger to Tullahoma. The city has a proud history in the program, including multiple state championships and a reputation for producing strong, competitive teams. With the relaunch of the division this fall, league leaders believe the community can continue that rich tradition.

“This fall is about more than just baseball — it’s about laying the foundation for the future,” said Jeff Panko, board member with Tullahoma Cal Ripken. “These players are learning, growing, and adjusting to the larger field. We’re excited to see Babe Ruth back in Tullahoma and look forward to building on the championship legacy that was established here.”

The program also fills a critical gap for players aging out of the 12U division, giving them a place to continue developing their skills locally. Playing on the full-size field prepares athletes for middle school and high school baseball while keeping them connected to the Tullahoma community.

Meanwhile, the younger Cal Ripken divisions are thriving as well. From coach-pitch for 5–6-year-olds to the competitive 11–12-year-olds, players across the league are showing strong development and competitiveness.

With Babe Ruth underway and younger divisions flourishing, leaders say this fall marks the start of something bigger. The league’s goal is to build toward the spring season with even more participation, more teams, and a continued tradition of excellence.

“Babe Ruth baseball has always been strong in Tullahoma,” Panko said. “Now we’re bringing it back to where it belongs — and we’re here to stay.”
