Terry LeRoy Parish, 71
Terry LeRoy Parish, 71, of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2025, at his residence.
He was born on April 6, 1954, in Lansing, Michigan to the late Frank H. and Ida Mae (Dean) Parish. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Terry enjoyed his time in the military and cherished the friendships he met then He had many skills in his life, especially working on his beloved farm. He met the love of his life Joyce in 1996 and after dating for two years they married on March 29, 1998. For many years, he worked at an excavating company. Until his retirement, Terry owned and operated Scotties Small Engine Repair in Decherd where he was a skilled mechanic and repaired semi’s, cars, and trucks. In addition to his professional career, he had many skills in his life, his favorite being working on his beloved farm. An avid outdoorsman, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as going to flea markets and auctions. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frank Parish Jr and Donna Steinke.
Terry is survived by his loving wife, Joyce; siblings, Larry Parish, Jim (Corene) Parish, and Betty Ann (Kenny) Stenger, all of Michigan; stepchildren, Walt Fuller of Manchester and Charlotte Mich Shannon (Mark) Broskey; and many nieces and nephews living in Michigan.
Funeral Services were held Friday, Dec. 19, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Jim Thomas officiating. A graveside service will held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2025, at Franklin Memorial Gardens with military honors bestowed.
