No Kings Day declared March 28
The Coffee County Democratic Party, joined by Democratic partners from Bedford, Warren, Sequatchie, Grundy, Marion, Moore, Franklin, and Lincoln Counties, will host the “No Kings Fest and Protest” on Saturday, March 28, from 12–6 p.m. at Southside Park, behind the C.D. Stamps building in Tullahoma. The event will feature food trucks, artists, live music, and speeches from local candidates, followed by a peaceful protest march to downtown Tullahoma at 3 p.m.
According to the Democratic Party, “No Kings” is a patriotic call to defend the Constitution before any president can place themselves above the law. As Vice-Chair Andrew Head notes, the Founders did not wait for King George to gain absolute power; they recognized the pattern and acted. Today, working families are paying higher prices at the pump and in the grocery store while ultra-wealthy insiders profit and our tax dollars fund foreign wars.
“This movement is about putting People Over Politics,” organizers said. “It is not defending Democrats or attacking Republicans. It’s about a group of rural Tennesseans standing together against any leader who treats public office like a throne and our tax dollars like a piggy bank. We may disagree on many issues, but can we agree that no one is above the law, our kids should not die in wars to cover up crimes, and working families should not be exploited? If your answer is yes, we’re on the same team. All are welcome. Bring family, friends, and signs in support of democracy and No Kings.”
