Sweet as Honey

As many of you know, my Papa Billy Allen, is known around town as the “Honey Man”. His dedication to preserving honeybees in Moore County and the countless hours he has spent with bees is admirable. As his granddaughter, it has become hard for me to not also want to be involved in the honey production side of agriculture.

Abundance

I used to believe that abundance was tied to financial wealth, social status or career success, but once I became a stay-athome mom in 2021 I realized abundance was so much more. According to the dictionary, abundance refers to a large quantity, a plentiful supply or a state of having more than enough of something. When you look at your inventory of life, where is there an abundance?

Southern Grace

In the South, we use the term “grace” in many different contexts. We say grace at supper time, we give grace to our neighbors, and we show grace through our actions. The term grace according to the dictionary is defined as simple elegance or refinement of movement. But if you were to uncover the biblical description you would find that simply put, grace is the love of God shown to the unlovely, the peace of God given to the restless and the unmerited favor of God. Friend, we are all undeserving of God’s grace. “ For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23. “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.” Romans 5:12.

Trading Views

It is summertime and so many of you have probably planned a vacation- are you counting down the days? As our family prepares for ours it got me thinking about what a difference the view will be for only just a week. Hay bales and pastures will be traded for palm trees and blue seas, rolling hills and vegetable gardens will be traded for mountains and lush forest – there are so many changes that come when you shift geological locations. I often think back to the day that I shifted my spiritual views and fully surrendered this journey through life to the Lord. I did not know what would be ahead, the roads or scenery, but I committed to following the directional signs and began to envision the beauty that lied before me. “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Empty Vessels

Are you at a place today where you feel as though your vessel is empty? Are you running on empty trying to be everything to everyone? In 2 Kings chapter 4 there is a miracle that happens for a widow woman and her two children behind closed doors. A miracle of endless oil flowing to fill up every empty vessel she had. A miracle that not only allowed this woman to save her precious children but blessed her family for years to come! In these 7 short verses you will see that by her obedience, diligence and faith she was able to pour out all the miracles God had in store for her through her emptiness.

Sow to Grow

Have you ever been at a place in life where you feel stagnant? You don’t see change, don’t feel growth and maybe you have given up hope on that dream. You are not alone and believe it or not, there is an answer that you may have not considered.
