Gavin Dishon steers Tullahoma Airport toward growth

Ever since his sister started taking him with her to watch while she worked, Gavin Dishon has been closely tied to the Tullahoma Airport since he was 10. Now, 11 years later, he is the airport director. He started his career as an Airport Service Specialist, doing general line service work such as fueling, towing aircraft, and assisting pilots in need. He then climbed up to Interim Assistant Airport Manager. With five years of hands-on experience at the Tullahoma Airport, he has built extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance, emergency preparedness, daily airfield operations, and staff development.

Average home in Tullahoma brings $353K

Retail sales in Tullahoma in May, 2026 were up compared to May, 2025. Merchants collected $92,783 or 5.76% more in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales is one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 4.47%. Total sales tax collected in the fiscal year was $20,175,639.02 an increase of $962,665 over the previous fiscal year.

TCAT’s Edmonds wins state award

The Tennessee Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) recently selected Dr. Melody Edmonds as the Postsecondary Professional of the Year for the State of Tennessee. Dr. Edmonds serves as the President of TCAT-McMinnville, which includes the main campus in McMinnville and the newlyconstructed, TCAT at Coffee County campus.
