Coffee County 4-H attends conference

Five Coffee County 4-H members recently represented the county at the Tennessee 4-H Academic Conference held June 9–12 at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. More than 220 delegates from across the state attended the annual event, which provides middle school youth with hands-on learning experiences related to their project areas while introducing them to college life.

Damron’s marks 25 years of southern hospitality

Twenty five years ago, June of 2001, Damron’s Restaurant first opened their doors. And for twenty five years, when you place your order and your hearty, comfort food arrives you also get a heaping helping of genuine southern hospitality. Three-thirty in the morning, seven days a week, comes early at the Damron household so Gloria and her husband of 32 years, Mike, can get to the restaurant and get things started before the doors open at 6 a.m. And then it’s nonstop for Gloria and her small staff: prepping, cooking, welcoming, ordering, bussing, serving and cleaning til the last customer leaves about 2pm.
