Roy Charles Holder Obituary
Roy Charles Holder of Tullahoma passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 96.
Mr. Holder was born in Moore County to the late Buford and Effie Reavis Holder. During his life, Charlie served his country as a member of the United States Army where he drove a tank during the Korean Conflict. When he came home, he worked as a shoe cutter at GENESCO until his retirement. Charlie and his beloved wife Helen enjoyed going to yard sales, and collecting teapots and antiques. He loved camping, hunting, and fishing, and always had a bountiful vegetable garden that he loved to share with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Holder was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Huffman Holder; one brother, Edgar Holder; three sisters, Leta Belle Searcy, Mary Ruth Cumbee, and Frances Holder; and two nephews, Glenn Searcy, and Hugh Cumbee. He is survived by four nieces, Donna Brown, Barbara Ridner, Shirley Lievanas, and Gail Barnhardt (John); two nephews, Doyle Searcy, and Keith Searcy (Amanda); and many beloved great nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will take place Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Doyle Searcy, Keith Searcy, David Searcy, Derek Ridner, Kevin Ridner, and Darrell Richards serving as pallbearers.
