Barbara “Bobbie” H. Homan Obituary

Barbara “Bobbie” H. Homan, 81, of Tullahoma, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 3, 2025 in Longview, Texas.

Born on Sept. 3, 1943, in Tuscaloosa, AL, she was the daughter of J.D. and Bernice Hamrick. A graduate of Tuscaloosa High School, Bobbie also earned an Associate’s degree from Motlow State Community College. Bobbie was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Tullahoma. She taught piano lessons, and enjoyed square dancing and crocheting.

Later in life she enjoyed reading and book club. She also enjoyed traveling with her family, which included her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Melvin Lee Homan. She is survived by her daughters Michelle (Phillip) Ford of Longview, TX, Anissa (Matt) Mirtes of Lafayette, GA, Dale (Michael) Eldridge of Tullahoma as well as seven grandchildren Madison (Thomas) Townley, Joel Ford, Colter, Maggie, Josie Mirtes, Abigail and Daniel Eldridge and two great-grandchildren Tripp and Tallulah Townley, one brother David Hamrick of Phoenix, Arizona, and an honorary daughter, Amy Savage Fisher of Opelika, AL.

Visitation for Mrs. Homan will be held on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025 from noon to 2 p.m. with service to follow at 2 p.m. led by Brother Michael Eldridge at Kilgore Funeral Home, Tullahoma. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Foundation, 700 E. Marshall Ave, Longview, TX 75601, or The Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, giving@vumc.org.
