Glenn Carlton Hill Obituary
Glenn Carlton Hill of Tullahoma passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025 at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital at the age of 85. Mr. Hill was born in Hillsboro to the late Hobart and Estia Johnson Hill.
Glenn served his country as a member of the Army National Guard for 10 years, and worked as a postal contractor for 47 years. He was a charter member of Estill Springs Church of the Nazarene in 1956, and remained an active and devoted member for the rest of his life. Glenn taught Sunday School, served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Church Board Secretary, and the Music Director. Mr. Hill loved God, his family, his church, and his 1973 blue and white Ford truck. He won several awards showing his truck at various car shows over the years. Glenn will be remembered by all who loved him as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and an adoring great-grandfather. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hill was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jo Guinn, and Frances Sitz; one son-in-law, Troy Finney; and one great-grandson, Riley Boyd Hice. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 and ½ years, Ruth Walls Hill; two daughters, Donita Finney, and Benita Hice (Rev. Gerald); one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Finney; one grandson, Aaron Hice (Ashley); two great-grandsons, Nolan and Lucas; and one sister, Ann Gore (Kenneth).
Visitation for Mr. Hill will be held on Friday, March 7 from 5-8 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Ron McCormack officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, the family asks that donations in Glenn’s memory be made to either the Down Syndrome Association of Middle Tennessee, or the Brett Boyer Foundation.
