CMSGT Jimmie Horace Horton Obituary
CMSGT Jimmie Horace Horton of Tullahoma passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 15, 2025, surrounded by his family at Morning Pointe of Tullahoma at the age of 87. Mr. Horton was born in Pittsboro, NC to the late William Horace and Jessie Morgan Horton.
During his life, Jimmie served his country as a proud member of the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era, retiring with the rank of CMSGT. He also worked as an analyst for SVERDRUP/Schneider, and was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Horton was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Wilma Jeanne Horton (Cloer). He is survived by three children, Earl Reed Horton, Cheryl Marie Griggs (Anthony), and Jimmie Dale Horton (Kristie); one sister, Charlene P. Guider; six grandchildren, Rebekah M. Cochran, Ambralin N. Bowman (Robert), Bradley Dale Horton (Jessica), Alexis K. O’Day (Colton), Abigail E. Valentine (Mason), and Andrew R. Horton; two nieces, Hillary Pierce and Holly Stanek; one nephew, Doug Stanek; and one sister-in-law, Diane Stanek.
Visitation for Mr. Horton will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025 from 4 – 7 p.m. at Kilgore Funeral Home. Funeral services and Masonic Rites will immediately follow at 7 p.m. in the Kilgore Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Scott Claybrook officiating. Burial with full military honors will take place Monday, March 31, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.
