Shirley Louise Luttrell Obituary

Shirley Louise Luttrell, 89, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2025.

A native of Franklin County, she was born in Cowan on April 8, 1936, to the late Jess R. and Maude (Tucker) Henderson. A devoted homemaker, Shirley dedicated her time to taking care of her beloved family, whether it was supervising family activities or just being together.  She enjoyed reading and playing solitaire games on the computer, as well as watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.  Her larger-than-life personality, mixed with a wonderful sense of humor, a little feistiness, and a sweet spirit, will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Luttrell; son, Leroy Alan Luttrell; and siblings, Jim Henderson, Edith Russell, and Hulin Henderson.  Shirley is survived by her loving children, Debra S. Luttrell, Kenneth M. Luttrell, and Sharon L. Faris; daughter-in-law, Melissa Luttrell (who passed a few hours after Shirley); grandchildren, Joshua Luttrell, and Maranda Faris (Russell Goff); great-grandchildren, Joy and Jillian; and five cats and four dogs that were her grand-fur-babies.

Visitation was held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home.  Funeral Services followed the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Dr. Rev. Michael Clark officiating.  Interment followed at Franklin Memorial Gardens. Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, 300 First Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398, (931)-967-2222, www.moorecortner.com.
