Sam Scott, 80, of Lynchburg, passed away on Monday, Sept. 1, 2025, at his residence. Sam was born in Nashville, on June 23, 1945, to the late Samuel Scott, Sr. and Emily Gore Dinkins.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Jennings-Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Matthew Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Lynchburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Moore County Athletics.
