Lucy Shapard Keeney, 82

Lucy Shapard Keeney, 82, of Tullahoma, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, at Lynchburg Nursing Center following a brief illness.
A lifelong resident of Tullahoma, Lucy was born in Shelbyville on Feb. 17, 1944, to the late Joseph Baugh and Sarah Neely Shapard. She pursued her education at Emory University, St. Thomas University for Nursing, and later graduated from Trevecca University.
Lucy lived a full and vibrant life, balancing her professional career with her deep love for family and community. She served as Director of Catering for Mid-State Food Service and was also the proud owner of a farm, where she raised pigs and horses while lovingly raising her two children.
An avid gardener, Lucy found joy and pride in her beautiful vegetable and flower gardens. She was also a gifted cook who delighted in hosting gatherings for family and friends, creating lasting memories around her table. Her generous spirit extended into the community, where she was actively involved in numerous civic and volunteer organizations. A devoted member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Lucy’s faith was a guiding presence throughout her life.
Lucy will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her warm hospitality, and her kind and generous heart. She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Frank Keeney; her brothers, Allen Shapard and Joe Shapard, Jr.; and her sister, Sarah Marshall.
She is survived by her beloved children, Angela Worsham (Ty) Lawson of Tullahoma and Ben Worsham of Nashville; her cherished grandchildren, Pierce Lawson, Aubrey Lawson, and Emory Lawson, all of Tullahoma, and Alex Worsham of Nashville; as well as several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 1, at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 11 a.m., with the service to follow. Father Klasik will officiate.
