Abundance

I used to believe that abundance was tied to financial wealth, social status or career success, but once I became a stay-athome mom in 2021 I realized abundance was so much more. According to the dictionary, abundance refers to a large quantity, a plentiful supply or a state of having more than enough of something. When you look at your inventory of life, where is there an abundance?

It has most certainly changed year after year for me – some years I had an abundance of time, some an abundance of patience, others an abundance of creativity but recently God revealed to me that the abundance I am currently being blessed with is knowledge. This knowledge hasn’t come from books or lectures, but a strong conviction of truly understanding who I am in Christ and what God is calling of me in this season. It is nothing that I deserve, earned or was owed – it is a knowledge that was gained by only spending time with our Father through His word and through prayer. This is not to say that I am theologically proficient but that I am abundantly aware of how to operate in the anointing that God supplied. I am learning that everything does not require a response from me, my time is worthy, the energy I exert is not unrestricted, the conversations I have don’t always have to satisfy others, my possessions are priceless, the legacy God is allowing us to build is important and at the end of the day…..I am enough.

I am learning that abundance will only come if you are willing to take inventory and see that His supply is always enough for the mission to which you have been called. For years I strived for perfection and mastery when God was simply just asking for the oil I already had in my jar.

“For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.” Matthew 13:12. It does not go without saying that with the abundance comes warfare and with the warfare comes opposition, but once again, through Christ we have all the armor and weapons needed to see the victory. Seeing your value through the eyes of God is powerful and comes with a sense of discernment that will remove you from rooms you always wanted to be in, from making the decision to say “no” when you would have said “yes”, it brings about a confidence to walk away from a situation or relationship that no longer serves your Heavenly purpose- it is a freedom and gift.

I encourage you to take some time this week to see the abundance in your life – are you even aware of vessels that are overflowing with God’s provision? There are many seasons when you will feel as though there is desolation and scarcity, but in ALL things, God has already supplied more than enough.

“And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.” 1 Corinthians 9:8.
