Tullahoma boys’ stopped at Regional

The Tullahoma High School boys’ soccer team’s 2026 season officially came to a close. They lost in the first round of the regional tournament to Cumberland County High School, 3-2.

The game of soccer is brutal; high school sports in general are. Tullahoma had an overall record of 14-3-2 and notably went undefeated at home. The 2026 version of the Wildcats’ soccer program was easily one of the best teams it has seen in recent memory. They had the legs to make a deep postseason run, further than where their run ended–first round of regionals. That being said, a few bounces did not go Tullahoma’s way, and their great year is now over, as they were on the wrong side of a one-goal game.

Against Cumberland County, Tullahoma fell behind 2-1 after the first half. Coming into the second half, Head Coach of the Wildcats, Richie Chadwick, could not be prouder of how they played. THS had contagious energy and were able to find a second half goal, coming from senior Jayden Sarabia.

Sarabia has been a standout player all year for Tullahoma. This year, he finished with the most goals on the Wildcats roster with 18.

Despite the high-level from Sarabia, who had both of Tullahoma’s goals in the following contest, and the great play from many other Wildcat players, Cumberland County managed to capitalize more on their scoring chances, getting a 3-2 win over THS.

While it is sad to see the Wildcats’ season come to an end, they accomplished a lot. Their class of 10 seniors– Jackson Ites, Julian Calcagno, Camden Hutchings, Tommy Pham, Chase Dodson, Sarabia, Jude Smith, Eli Martinez, Jack Hill, and Cole Sterling –set the tone for what their team did this season. It will be hard to replace their talents, but with a group of proven talented juniors, the 2027 version of the THS soccer team could be another great team.

Tullahoma had three class of 2027 players score nine or more goals: Kaiden Grau, Gage Allen, and Aiden Walker. Allen scored nine goals, Grau scored 11, and Walker scored 12.
