HorsePlay in need of volunteers

Nonprofit organization HorsePlay, Inc. is making the call to the community as it’s in need of volunteers.
According to Program Director Hollie Holder, HorsePlay, Inc. has an emergency need for session volunteers for the dates from March 2 through May 9, 2026.
Classes will be held on Monday starting March 2 from 3:30-4:00 p.m., 5:15-6:15 p.m. and 6:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday classes will be held starting March 7 from 9-10 a.m., 10:15-11:15 a.m., 11:30-12:30 p.m. and 2:00-3:30 p.m. These classes run for 10 weeks each.
“We need volunteers to sign up for one hour time slots for 5-10 weeks to assist children in our therapeutic riding program,” Holder said. “Volunteers do not need to have prior experience. We only require a heart for service, helping hands, and a willing attitude. We will train you for the rest!”
Session volunteers include walking alongside the children while providing safety holds, playing games for therapeutic purposes, and prompting them to follow directions from the instructor. Other needs include leading the horse in class for the children.
How can you help?
Those wanting to help are encouraged to come and join HorsePlay for its New Volunteer Orientation.
“We are asking that people aged 14 years old and up come to a New Volunteer Orientation to learn more about the program, what our volunteer needs are and how you can help,” Holder said.
Orientation is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 2 from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, from 5-7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 7 from 2-3 p.m. Those interested are asked to pick a date that works best for their schedule.
