Lila Jean Mayes, 94, of Winchester, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Highpoint Health Medical Center. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester Springs on Nov.  1, 1930, to the late John Aubrey and Myrtle Vivian (Weaver) Statum. 

Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens. 

Moore-Cortner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
