Tullahoma’s well-known Sundrop Shoppe is to be featured on Nashville PBS’s “Tennessee Crossroads.”

The Sundrop Shoppe is a restaurant located at 217 NW Atlantic St. next to Prescott Bottling and Distributing Company, a fourth generation family business that distributes over 350 varieties of soft drinks. According to Moore, her father had wanted to open a restaurant with a tie-in to Sundrop for years before deciding to turn an old storage space they already owned into a soda fountain and lunch spot, akin to Mr. Gower’s drugstore from the Christmas classic “It’s a Wonderful Life.” The restaurant opened its doors to Tullahoma in May 2019.

Prescott Bottling and Distributing Company’s Director of Marketing, Paige Prescott Moore, said the Sundrop Shoppe had previously been scheduled to be on the show in 2020, but had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19.

“We filmed this summer,” said Moore, and she said that it was great.

“We were really excited to have them,” she said, and added that many customers were there the day of filming.

The Sundrop Shoppe will officially debut on “Tennessee Crossroads” on Nashville’s PBS on Thurs., Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. A second airing will be on Sun., Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. For a specific channel listing, check with your local provider.
