Riley Maurice Carter, age 95, of Manchester, TN, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, surrounded by his children in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Carter was born in Manchester, TN, to the late James Wesley Carter and Tennie Mae Ridner Carter. He worked as an electrician at AEDC for more than 30 years and proudly served his country before retiring from the United States Air Force Reserve. He was a faithful member of Blanton’s Chapel Global Methodist Church. He lived an active life of service to others and enjoyed the outdoors, especially walking, gardening, and cut- _____ _________ __ _________ ______ ___ _______ ___ _______ _______________________________________________________ passion for bluegrass. He also enjoyed Chicken Foot dominoes, boating, and trips to the beach. Above all, he cherished his family and the many wonderful memories they made together.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Edna Mae Daniel Carter; and his brother, Wayne Carter.

Mr. Carter is survived by his daughter, Vicki (Jim) Dendis; son, Kevin (Patti) Carter; granddaughters, Ryan Carter and Kelsey (Will) Nelson; great-grandchildren, Kylee Brown, Noah Carter-Russ, Owen Nelson, and Parker Nelson; sisters, Reba Teal, Geneva Jenkins, and Betty Currie; brother, Lynn Carter; his dear pet, Thomas Midi the Kitty; and several nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.

Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, September 6, 2026, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Central Funeral Home, __________________________________________________ ating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma, TN.
