O’Charley’s Restaurant & Bar in Manchester, along with several other locations, will close its doors after almost 20 years in business.

The news of the closure spread online in the last 24 hours, with reported staff members making the announcement that the restaurant was shutting its doors on Wednesday, Sept. 9. According to a member of the staff, they received notice of the sudden closure just the day before, but also shared the staff are grateful to its customers and thank them for their patronage.

As for a statement from the chain itself, it appears that O’Charley’s main Facebook and Instagram pages have been deleted or deactivated. There has also been no official statement from representatives of the chain.

Besides Manchester, many locations across Middle Tennessee and Kentucky have been reported to be closed down, including locations in Clarksville, Springfield, Dickson and Cookeville.

O’Charley’s was founded in 1971 by Charlie Watkins in Nashville, where it expanded to in Tennessee, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. In 2016, O’Charley’s had 216 locations before it began shutting down locations, narrowing it down to just 52 locations in 2026 before the recent closure of locations.
