What is a urogynecologist and signs you should see one

Many women are familiar with visiting a gynecologist for routine reproductive care or a urologist for bladder issues. However, there is a specialized field of medicine that combines both, called urogynecology. An urogynecologist focuses specifically on diagnosing, managing and treating pelvic floor disorders. The pelvic floor is a supportive network of muscles, ligaments and connective tissue that holds a woman’s pelvic organs in place. When these muscles weaken or suffer damage from childbirth, aging, heavy lifting, genetics or chronic coughing, uncomfortable symptoms can develop that may even become distressing at times.

The Democrats try to fix their men problem

For years, the Democratic Party treated men the way a museum treats a taxidermized woolly mammoth: as something historically important, dirty, and best observed from behind a velvet rope. Then 2024 happened. Black, white and Hispanic men shifted to voting Republican. So, instead of any real self-reflection, the Dems did what they do best: formed a secret committee. The answer, according to $20 million worth of a Democrat consultant’s work, was just the wrong “messaging.” Not that young men feel invisible, think Democrats are weak, and do not believe the party has their back. They just need the Dems to message them more, to see it their way.

Mary Elizabeth Turner

Mary Elizabeth Turner, of Tullahoma, passed this life on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 82. Mrs. Turner was born in Estill Springs to the late Thomas Lloyd Ingleburger and Dimple Mae Carroll Ingleburger. She was a long-time member of Wesley Heights United Methodist Church in Tullahoma. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Davis Pratt, Henrietta Arnold, and Dorothy Lowhorn; one brother, Lloyd Ingleburger; her daughter-in-law, Debra Turner; and her son-inlaw, Stanley Downs. She is survived by her husband of nearly 68 years, Malcom Turner; her son, Stan Turner; her daughter, Gretchen Downs; three grandchildren, Jessica Downs and her wife Kelsey, Katie Turner, and ____ ___________ ______ ______ ____ ____ ______ ____ ____ _ - _____ ______ _______ ____ _____________________ _______ Hudson, Gracelynn, Blakelynn, and Harper; and one sister, Barbara Stone. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 25th, 2026 at Kilgore Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 26th, 2026 at 11 a.m. in the Kilgore Funeral _____ _______ _____ _____ ____ _______ ___________ _______ will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Kilgore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Phyllis (Phyl) Anne Martin Birdsong

Phyllis (Phyl) Anne Martin Birdsong, age 72, laid to rest on Tuesday, August 26th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born December 14th, 1953, she was born in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Halson W. Martin and Mildred J. Martin. Phyl was known for her strong will, kindness, love for all things owl, and an even bigger love for her family.
