Wawa to open in Manchester Wednesday

Wawa is spreading its wings in Tennessee and celebrating the grand opening of its fifth store in the state in Manchester, located at 24 Campground Road.

During the event, the company will be joined by hundreds of customers, local officials, first responders and community partners to mark this milestone in Wawa history. Also on hand will be the General Manager Rebecca Millien and Wally Goose, Wawa’s mascot.

Highlights of the festivities to include: the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m.; free, limited-edition t-shirts for first 250 customers starting at 8 a.m., as supplies last; free hot, any-size coffee from Oct. 14 through Oct. 18; Wawa’s “Parade of the Ages,” showcasing milestones over the company’s 200-year history; Wawa’s leadership sharing expansion plans and ongoing investment in Tennessee; local officials highlighting the positive impact of Wawa’s expansion on the economy; Wawa’s “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition between local Police and Fire Departments with $1,000 donated to each department’s charity of choice

“Wawa is thrilled to continue its expansion to the retailer’s 14th state with the opening of its newest store in Tennessee,” Wawa officials said in a statement. “In 2026, Wawa plans to open up to seven (7) stores in Tennessee. Over the next ten years, Wawa plans to build and open more than 50 stores in the state. To build each store, Wawa will invest more than $7.5 million and employ, on average, 140 contractors and local partners. Once open, each store will employ an average of 35 associates, with Wawa expecting to create 1,750 new, long-term new jobs as a result of this expansion.”

Manchester will not be the only Wawa location in Coffee County, as Tullahoma recently approved the site plan for a Wawa at the former location of Ruby Tuesday, which closed its doors following the site plan approval.
