31 authors signed on for the fourth annual Coffee County Adult Literacy Council local author event at First Christian Church Saturday, meeting with readers and selling signed copies of their books.

Justin Thompson presents a donation of $1,150 to Skills Development Services, Inc., on behalf of the Tennessee Knights of Columbus KIND fund, which supports charities for those with intellectual disabilities throughout the state. These funds were raised locally by Council 3991 of the Knights of Columbus, who will be distributing similar checks to Good Samaritan and the Special Olympics. SDS is a community-based agency, with offices in Tullahoma, Shelbyville, and Fayetteville, and focuses on supporting people to make choices, lead meaningful lives, and to be participating, working members in their communities. Greg Gressel, longtime leader of Girl Scout Troop 2163 and Service Unit 142, has received the Thanks Badge II, the highest award given to an adult volunteer by Girl Scouts of the USA.
