Licensed Massage Therapist Mitzi Rigsby has recently joined the talented team of health care professionals at Marvel Cosmetic Medspa.

Rigsby completed her massage therapy education at the Cumberland Institute in Brentwood Tennessee in 2000. Her early career included positions with Susie Alexander, LMT, Dr. Susan Brown, DC and Divine Day Spa in Decherd.

In 2010, Rigsby established Professional Massage Therapy in Decherd which over time grew to include three additional therapists and a natural health practitioner. In 2020 she closed her business.

When asked why she chose to work at Marvel Cosmetic Medspa, Rigsby offered, “This is a highly professional work environment. Rigsby was inspired to pursue a career in massage therapy due to her fascination with the human body. “The intricate ways in which we move, combined with the complex nature of how we experience sensations and emotions, reveal that the body possesses a remarkable intelligence. This intelligence often surpasses our current understanding and continues to motivate my passion for helping others through therapeutic touch.”

With 25 years of handson experience in massage therapy, Rigsby feels she has an understanding of the body’s needs. “I believe personalization is key to effective healing and relaxation. By working closely with each client, I strive to tailor every session to address their specifi c concerns, preferences and goals. I recognize pain and stress are unique to each individual. This approach allows for a truly customized experience that supports each client’s journey toward wellness.”

Rigsby is married to BJ Rigsby and they have two grown children.
