Rocky Jones announces congressional run

United States Air Force veteran Harold “Rocky” Jones officially announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Tennessee’s 4th Congressional District. Running as a mission-driven challenger, Jones is launching a grassroots campaign focused on protecting local communities, lowering the cost of living, and bringing accountability back to Washington.

As a veteran, Jones spent his military career defending American values and security. Now, he is stepping up to tackle a new set of challenges threatening the stability of Middle Tennessee: the skyrocketing cost of housing driven by corporate greed and the strain placed on local infrastructure by unregulated technological expansion.

“For too long, Washington has looked the other way while everyday Tennesseans get squeezed out of their own neighborhoods,” said Jones. “I served my country to protect our freedom and our communities. Right now, our community is under threat from out-of-state corporate interests buying up our land and straining our resources. I’m running for Congress to put the people of the 4th District first.”

A central pillar of the Jones platform is addressing the housing crisis. Institutional investors and Wall Street hedge funds have been buying up single-family homes across the region, outbidding local families and driving up rent and property costs. Jones is committed to fighting for federal legislation that prevents massive corporate conglomerates from monopolizing the local housing market, ensuring that young families, workers, and retirees can afford to own a piece of the American Dream in Tennessee.

In addition to housing security, Jones is raising the alarm on the rapid, unregulated expansion of artificial intelligence data centers in the region. While welcoming technological innovation, Jones emphasizes that the massive energy and water demands of these facilities must not come at the expense of local utility infrastructure or lead to higher utility bills for residents. His platform calls for strict federal and state compliance standards to protect the integrity and stability of the local power grid.

As a proud father who recently celebrated his children’s graduation milestones alongside families across the district, Jones understands the deep desire of local parents to build a prosperous, stable future for the next generation.

“Middle Tennessee is a vibrant place to live, work, and raise a family, but we need leadership that anticipates tomorrow’s problems instead of reacting to yesterday’s,” Jones added. “We need a grid that can sustain us, housing that we can afford, and a representative who answers to voters, not corporate lobbyists.”
