Cody Campbell named Regional General Manager

The Middle Tennessee newspapers under Lakeway Publishers are seeing a change in leadership as Cody Campbell was named the Regional General Manager for The Tullahoma News, The Manchester Times and The Moore County News.
As Regional General Manager, Campbell will manage the three papers primarily from the Tullahoma News office at 505 Lake Way Place in Tullahoma, as well as the Manchester Times office at 300 North Spring Street in Manchester.
“It’ll be a more consolidated effort we believe will streamline processes, making it easier for communication across three properties to have one leader over the three properties.” Campbell has been the general manager of the Manchester Times for the last five years, as well as serving as the interim general manager for the Bedford County Post for the past six months during the transition period. During his time as GM for The Times, Campbell said the newspaper has grown to be a successful property in a period where people say that newspapers are dying.
“I believe we are adapting,” Campbell said. “We are in a transition process right now and some growing pains may be felt by everybody along the way, but we will ultimately be stronger on the other side. The use of digital media is connecting us to a broader audience, and we are embracing change while continuing to provide our customers a physical newspaper with robust local offerings.”
Campbell is originally from Warren County and has been working in and around Manchester and Tullahoma for the last decade. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga and is married to his wife, Brittany, and they have eight children.
“I’m really ingrained in the community here through working with non-profits, helping local businesses advertise in the newspapers, just in general spending my time, my money, my energy in this community, in Coffee County for the last decade,” Campbell said. “While I don’t live here, I choose here. I choose to be here every single day, and I love being here.”
And to the subscribers and customers, Campbell said things are changing slightly, as the circulation system has become remote.
“As with many organizations, billing and things of that nature typically are done out of house, and that’s going to be the case with us,” he said. “The content remains local, the leadership remains local, the people who serve you every single day from our offices will be local. You will have locally sourced content by local writers. We will be hyperlocal all the time. That will not change.”
Along with Campbell, Tullahoma News Executive Editor Duane Sherrill has moved up in roles as he will now serve as Region Administrator when it comes to editorial content in all nine of Lakeway’s Middle Tennessee publications.
