Retail sales down slightly to start year
Retail sales in Tullahoma in January, 2026 were down slightly compared to January, 2025. Merchants collected $17,216 or 1.19% less in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales are one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the first eight months of the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 5.46%.
In Manchester sales tax collections increased 3.82% January 2026 over January 2025. In rural Coffee County, retail sales are approximately one third of Tullahoma sales. Sales tax collections in rural Coffee County increased 23.70% January 2026 over January 2025.
In February, eleven companies received business licenses to operate in Tullahoma. Three are based out of town, two appear to be home-based and six have store fronts.
Seventy-seven companies or individuals pulled permits to build in Tullahoma in February. The total value of the permits is $7,166,017. There were twenty one new single family permits pulled for an average value of $322,812.
The Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors reported 30 single family homes were sold in Tullahoma in February at an average price of $319,163. The total inventory of homes available for sale is 180. The average time to close is 70 days.
Forty five homes for sale entered the market in February. There is 5.4 months supply of homes in Tullahoma.
The Tullahoma Fire Department reported one structure fire and 157 medical/ first responder calls in February. There were 1438 training hours completed.
The Park and Rec Department reported 250 participants in the Jr. NBA program.
Tullahoma Public Works picked up 535 tons of residential garbage and 428 tons of commercial garbage in February. The department also collected and sold 62 tons of cardboard in February. There were 731 bio bags collected and 42 bags of litter picked up in February.
The Tullahoma Animal Shelter reported 38 animals left the shelter in February.
The Tullahoma Police Department answered 1803 calls, worked 55 traffic accidents (8 with injury), issued 200 citations and made 113 arrests during February.
