Retail sales climb in Coffee County

Retail sales in Tullahoma in February, 2026 were up slightly compared to February, 2025. Merchants collected $29,614 or 2.11% more in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales are one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the first nine months of the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 5.14%.
In Manchester sales tax collections increased 4.94% February, 2026 over February 2025. In rural Coffee County, retail sales are approximately one third of Tullahoma sales. Sales tax collections in rural Coffee County decreased 21.29% February, 2026 over February 2025.
In March, seventeen companies received business licenses to operate in Tullahoma. Four are based out of town, three appear to be home-based and ten have store fronts.
Thirty nine companies or individuals pulled permits to build in Tullahoma in March. The total value of the permits was $8,364,411. There were nine new single family permits pulled for an average value of $410,000. There were two significant commercial or industrial projects started in March. A $717,000 permit was pulled for 807 William Northern Blvd. at the airport and a $3,000,000 permit pulled for 1502 East Carroll Street, the site of the previous Coca Cola building.
The Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors reported 30 single family homes were sold in Tullahoma in March at an average price of $286,802. The total inventory of homes available for sale is 191. The average time to close is 91 days.
Ninety eight homes for sale entered the market in February. There is 5.7 months’ supply of homes in Tullahoma.
The Tullahoma Fire Department reported four structure fires and 202 medical/first responder calls in March. There were 1516 training hours completed.
The Park and Rec Department reported 1150 active members.
Tullahoma Public Works picked up 565 tons of residential garbage and 427 tons of commercial garbage in March. There were 1238 bio bags collected and 421 bags of litter picked up in March. 53 signs were installed or repaired in March.
The Tullahoma Animal Shelter reported 43 animals left the shelter in March. There were 82 animals in the shelter the end of March.
The Tullahoma Police Department answered 1803 calls, worked 58 traffi c accidents (11 with injury), issued 200 citations and made 94 arrests during March.
