A Gum Creek woman died in a house fire in Franklin County last week, and four others were injured.

“On September 14, 2026, at approximately 1:50 a.m., deputies from our office, Alto-Oak Grove VFD, Capitol Hill VFD, Hillsboro VFD, Decherd FD, AEDC FD, Tennessee Highway Patrol, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation responded to 3010 Gum Creek Road in reference to a house fire,” the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stated. “Sadly, Patricia Ann Perry, age 80, died as a result of the fire. Four other individuals were injured and were transported from the scene to receive medical treatment.”

The cause and circumstances surrounding the fire remain under investigation. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office stated it is working with the TBI to determine the cause of the fire and to gather all available information.
