Stanley Lynn Downs, of Tullahoma, unexpectedly passed this life on Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville at the age of 74. Stanley was born in Tullahoma to the late James and Alma Blanton Downs. During his life, he worked as a lead pump operator at AEDC.

After his retirement from AEDC, Stanley worked as a full-time farmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Nelson, Dana, and Dale Downs. Stanley is survived by his wife, Gretchen Downs; one daughter, Jessica Downs and her wife Kelsey; one son, Jay Downs and his fiancé Amber Smith; three grandchildren, Hudson Downs, Blakelynn Alford, and Harper Downs; his mother-inlaw and father-in-law, Mary and Malcom Turner; and special cousin, Jeannette Bell.

The funeral service was held on Monday, June 29, 2026 in the Kilgore Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Partin, Jr. officiating. Entombment followed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens with Austin Duke, Bailey Duke, Trent Duke, David Hunter, Tom Throneberry, Ricky Harris, Jonathan Anthony, and Chris Anthony serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Anthony, Randy Kennedy, Gary Preston, Richard Newman, and Bobby Partin.

Kilgore Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
