THS baseball sweeps Marshall County

Get the brooms out. The Tullahoma High School baseball team had its second district regular-season series sweep of 2026. They defeated Marshall County High School by a score of 2-0 and 10-0.

Game one

In the first of two games between the Wildcats and the Tigers, the standout performer for THS was starting pitcher, senior Ben Quick.

The fourth-year right-handed pitcher, Quick, is starting to play at the highest level in his high school career. He was recognized as the Nashville Area Law Player of the Week for a performance earlier in the season in which he struck out 12 against Giles County. He has now thrown his name back in the player of the week pool, with his outing against Marshall.

In the contest, Quick struck out a season- high for any THS pitcher in 2026, logging 15 strikeouts. He pitched all seven innings for Tullahoma and allowed just two hits. The Wildcats’ offense was able to back Quick’s big night on the mound, with both of their two runs coming in the third and fourth innings.

In the top of the third, senior Addian Evans, with one out, managed to get on base with a hard hit to right field. The Wildcats’ next batter, fellow class of 2026 grad Parke Fulks, then logged a hit. Fulks also laced a shot to right field, but his knock was an extra base hit, helping bring across the Wildcats’ first run of two against Marshall.

Fulks and Evans accounted for all four of Tullahoma’s hits against the Tigers, each going 2-4 from the Plate. Tullahoma’s second run of the game came from a wild pitch, which scored senior Xander Poque from third base.

Game two

Tullahoma’s offense got off to a hot start in game two against Marshall County. They scored in each of the first four innings, scoring one run each in innings one through three, and breaking off a big lead in the fourth, as they submitted four runs to give them a 7-0 advantage over Marshall.

The Wildcats’ big fourth inning was generated by four hits coming from Evans, Fulks, Pogue, and Garrett Reed. The Tullahoma sophomore, Reed, had the biggest hit of the four. He struck a two-RBI triple to center field. Evans and Poque hits scored in one run each in the frame.

Senior Lukas Taylor was on the mound for the Wildcats and put together another impressive starting pitching performance against Marshall. He had eight strikeouts and gave up just one hit in the contest.

With the two wins against the Tigers, the Wildcats now have a district record of 4-2, placing them in third place in their district standings, behind Franklin County High School and Lawrence County High School.
