Back to school this Friday

For many students and teachers, summer flew by too fast, as it is already time to return to class as schools are back in session across the state.

Students will return to school in Tullahoma on Friday, July 31, for the 2026-27 session. Teachers have already been working in-service since last Friday, July 24.

According to TCS Communications Specialist Zach Birdsong, lunch and breakfast are once again free for all students. In addition, the Little Cats Learning Academy and Pre-K have been moved to its location, located at the old Jack T. Farrar Entrance on Westside Drive.

“This location has expanded spaces for our youngest students,” Birdsong said to The News.

As has become customary for Tullahoma schools, there will be eight early release dates where all schools get out at 1 p.m. The dates include Aug. 26, Sept. 30, Nov. 18, Dec. 16, Jan. 27, Feb. 24, April 18 and May 19.

Holiday breaks will include Labor Day, Sept. 27; fall break, Oct. 5-9; Thanksgiving break, Nov. 23-27; Christmas Break, Dec. 21 through what will be Jan. 5 as students will be out for an administrative break Jan. 4; Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 18; President’s Day, Feb. 15; Spring Break, March 15-19; Good Friday, March 26 and Easter, March 29.

Teacher in-service days, which students will enjoy a day off, include Oct. 12 and Feb. 12. Teacher conferences will be Sept. 21-24 for elementary, Sept. 8-10 for middle schools and Sept. 7-10 for high school. The spring conferences will be Feb. 1-4 for elementary, Feb. 9-11 for middle and Feb. 8-11 for high school. The last day of school is set for May 25, 2027.
