Tullahoma soccer blows out Battle Creek

The Tullahoma High School boys’ soccer team remains without a loss in the 2026 season. They now have an overall record of 7-0-2 after an 8-2 win over Battle Creek High School and a 1-1 tie with Lead Southeast High School.

Battle Creek

Tullahoma’s game against Battle Creek marked their first district game of the season. Their high level that they have had in all of their prior seven non-district games carried into the matchup against the opposing Grizzlies, as they scored eight goals.

Tullahoma, in the matchup within their eight goals, had five different goal scorers. Senior Jude Smith had one goal, junior Kaiden Grau had one goal, junior Aiden Walker had one goal, sophomore Alan Esquivel-Garcia had two goals, and junior Gage Allen scored a game-high three goals.

Allen, who joined the team late in the season, is notably improving every game he plays. The more matches he plays, the more comfortable he is on the pitch, thus the more dangerous Tullahoma’s team becomes offensively and overall.

With the victory, Tullahoma moved into third place in the district standings, behind Central Magnet High School, which is in second and Giles County, which is in first place.

LEAD Southeast

LEAD Southeast was undoubtedly one of the best teams the Wildcats have matched up with in all of the 2026 season. They had an overall record of 5-1- coming into the game and were on a threegame win streak. Through their warpath of wins, they outscored their opponent 18-2. However, despite the heavy goal production from LEAD in their latest stretch of games, Tullahoma found a way to stifle their scoring, with senior goalie Cole Sterling being a big part of it.

Against Southeast, Sterling logged a total of seven saves. THS’ backline defenders also had some impressive plays, making several stops on their own goal line.

The one goal Sterling let up in the 1-1 tie came late in the second half, when senior for LEAD Kam Sian Mung found the back of the net. This goal came after the Wildcats were able to take the lead in the first half with a piercing shot from senior Jayden Sarabia. The fourth-year THS player sniped a shot from near 30 yards out. He currently leads Tullahoma with the most goals in the 2026 season, with a total of 10.

Tullahoma will be back in action on Tuesday, March 7, when they take on Marshall County High School on the road. The opposing Tigers currently have an overall record of 2-5.
