Postseason loading: THS softball’s regular season officially over

The Tullahoma High School softball team regular season schedule recently came to a close. They finished with an overall record of 12-14, and currently are in fifth place in their district standings with a record of 3-6.
South Pittsburgh and Marshall County
Following their monumental win over Coffee County High School, the Lady Wildcats split their next two games. They won against South Pittsburgh High School 9-1, and lost narrowly against Marshall County High School 10-9.
Against South Pittsburgh, the Lady Wildcats’ offense eased along. Through the first four innings, they had a 4-0 lead, scoring at least one run in innings two through four. Helping keep the opposing Pirates’ offense at bay was Tullahoma’s starting pitcher, Amaya Sharp. Through the first four innings, she allowed just one hit and had four strikeouts.
Backed by great defense, the Lady Wildcats’ offense had its best frame in the bottom of the sixth inning, where they scored a total of five runs. Helping create this production were several ‘Cats.
Senior Kaitlynn Gattis, sophomore Kayleigh Campbell, senior Maggie Lynch, and senior Ellie Simpson all had hits in the frame. Simpson and Campbell’s hits brought runners across the plate, with Simpson striking a two RBI double to centerfield and Campbell slashing an RBI single on a line drive toward South Pittsburgh’s pitcher.
Against Marshall County, Tullahoma got off to a good start. In the top of the first, the Lady Wildcats took a 6-0 lead. They had a total of five hits in the frame with Gattis and Sharp logging RBI singles. Unfortunately for Tullahoma, the massive lead they generated was short-lived. The current district second-place squad, the Lady Tigers, showed why they earned that place in the standings by logging five runs in the second inning.
An early pitching change for Marshall also paid dividends with the ‘Cats bats struggling to heat back up. THS scored two runs in the second and third, but past that, they were held to one run for the remainder of the game.
The Lady Tigers tied the game at 9-9 with a three-run inning in the fourth, which set them up for an eventual walk off win at home in the bottom of the seventh. The winning hit came from sophomore Caroline Perryman, who hit a single to right field, scoring in the game-winning 10th run across the plate for Marshall.
The two big offensive performers for Tullahoma were senior Addyson Norman and Gattis. Norman went 3-4 from the plate and had two RBIs. Gattis went 2-4 and had two RBIs.
Franklin County and Columbia Central
The Lady Wildcats, in their latest two games, won one and lost one. They logged their third district win of the season against Franklin County, winning 5-4, and lost for the second time in 2026 against Columbia Central, losing by a score of 10-5.
Against Franklin County, Tullahoma had a 4-2 lead in the top of the seventh and was able to tack on a much-needed fifth run. Helping establish the ‘Cats’ 5-2 advantage was an RBI double hit to center field by sophomore Avanley Metcalf.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Rebelettes were able to score two runs to bring the score line to 5-4. They had a real shot of tying the game at 5-5 with a runner in scoring position at second base. However, with two outs, Sharp, who was pitching for Tullahoma, came up clutch. With a full count, Sharp generated a strikeout, stamping the win for Tullahoma.
Against Columbia Central, much like their loss to Marshall County, the Lady Wildcats got off to a great start. In the top of the first, they took a 3-0 lead.
Tullahoma’s attack on the scoreboard early came from two extra-base hits. Metcalf hit a triple that scored in Simpson, and junior Anzley Holloway had a two-RBI double to right field that scored in Metcalf and Campbell.
Columbia Central quickly erased the Lady Wildcats’ lead in the bottom of the third. In the frame, they scored eight runs, taking a 9-5 lead, and after the big scoring frame, they did not look back. The Lady Cats officially logged their 20th win of the season with their victory over THS.
The Lady Wildcats, in the loss, had three players with two or more hits; Sharp, Metcalf, and Lynch. Sharp went 3-4 from the plate, and Lynch and Metcalf both went 2-4.
