HorsePlay gets $15k from Lillian Ashley Foundation
HorsePlay, Inc. has announced it was a recipient of a $15,000 grant from The Lillian Ashley Fund at Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee (CFMT) to support its mission of providing therapeutic horseback riding services to area special needs children.
Average home in Tullahoma brings $353K
Retail sales in Tullahoma in May, 2026 were up compared to May, 2025. Merchants collected $92,783 or 5.76% more in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales is one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 4.47%. Total sales tax collected in the fiscal year was $20,175,639.02 an increase of $962,665 over the previous fiscal year.
TCAT’s Edmonds wins state award
The Tennessee Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) recently selected Dr. Melody Edmonds as the Postsecondary Professional of the Year for the State of Tennessee. Dr. Edmonds serves as the President of TCAT-McMinnville, which includes the main campus in McMinnville and the newlyconstructed, TCAT at Coffee County campus.
Fire in the sky – the Perseids are coming
There will be a fire in the night sky for the next month as the Perseids Meteor Shower returns for a season, with the onset already happening, and highlighting in early August.
Glick makes last request for C.D. Stamps
Now in his last month of service in Tullahoma, Alderman Kurt Glick has a last request for the city to consider – a playground and splash pad at C.D. Stamps Community Center.
City votes to equally fund entities
The board of mayor and aldermen voted on first reading to pass an ordinance that will require that South Jackson Performing Arts Center, the Tullahoma Area Chamber of Commerce and the Tullahoma Sports Council all be given equal funding.
Deer bait privilege licenses available
The new Deer Bait Privilege License will be available on GoOutdoorsTennessee.com and in the TWRA On the Go App, starting July 22, 2026. The cost will be $50 for a resident of Tennessee and $100 for a non-resident. Public Chapter No. 444, allowing hunting over bait for white-tailed deer, was initiated by the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Bill Lee in the 2025 Legislative Session.
Tennessee Oncology opens in Tullahoma
Tennessee Oncology, which treats nearly half the cancer patients in the Volunteer state, has opened its new Tullahoma Medical Center, a state-of-the-art medical facility located at 2230 N. Jackson Street.
