Multi-million dollar building permits issued

Retail sales in Tullahoma in March, 2026 were up slightly compared to March, 2025. Merchants collected $16,482 or 1% more in sales tax between the two months. The reporting of retail sales is one month behind as merchants have a month to report their sales. For the first nine months of the fiscal year, retail sales in Tullahoma are up 4.71%.

In Manchester sales tax collections increased 5.66% March, 2026 over March 2025. In rural Coffee County, retail sales are approximately one third of Tullahoma sales. Sales tax collections in rural Coffee County increased 41.05% March, 2026 over March 2025.

In April, 18 companies received business licenses to operate in Tullahoma. Seven are based out of town, three appear to be home-based and eight have store fronts.

Sixty three companies or individuals pulled permits to build in Tullahoma in April. The total value of the permits was $22,036,242. There were 22 new single family permits pulled for an average value of $263,450. There were two significant commercial or industrial projects started in April. A $13,234,922 permit was pulled for the new NHC facility on Cedar Lane and a $1,973,624 permit pulled for renovation work at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital.

The Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors reported 41 single family homes were sold in Tullahoma in April at an average price of $332,977. The total inventory of homes available for sale is 230. The average time to close is 113 days.

Seventy three homes for sale entered the market in April. There is a 5.0 month supply of homes in Tullahoma.

The Tullahoma Fire Department reported three structure fires and 210 medical/first responder calls in March. There were 1692 training hours completed.

The Park and Rec Department reported 1156 active members and 2366 facility visits in April. There were 25 participants in a lifeguard training course.

Tullahoma Public Works picked up 629 tons of residential garbage and 479 tons of commercial garbage in April. There were 1338 bio bags collected and 0 bags of litter picked up in April. 54 signs were installed or repaired in April. Public Works received 522 citizen calls in April. There were 364 linear feet of ADA sidewalks repaired in April.

The Tullahoma Animal Shelter reported 35 animals left the shelter in April. There were 88 animals in the shelter the end of April.

The Tullahoma Police Department answered 1729 calls, worked 38 traffic accidents (2 with injury), issued 149 citations and made 108 arrests during April.
