Miss Tullahoma winners honored

The board of mayor and aldermen recognized the winners of the 2026 Miss Tullahoma Pageant held on March 6 at South Jackson Performing Arts Center at their last meeting. Honored with certificates of recognition from Mayor Lynn Sebourn were Emeri Claire Simmons - Little Miss Tullahoma, Riley Kate Brazier - Young Miss Tullahoma, KaCee Morgan Bordenet - Junior Miss Tullahoma, and Summer Grace Marie Kelly - Miss Tullahoma. The competition is a scholarship pageant for high school students (grades 9-12), with various age divisions ranging from younger contestants up to the senior title.

Live on the Lawn returns May 22

The GFWC Centennial Woman’s Club of Tullahoma will be holding its sixth annual “Live on the Lawn” fundraiser on Friday, May 22, from 6 – 9 p.m. “Enjoy a concert on the lawn featuring the band, A Slice of American Pie, who will be performing on the patio stage at South Jackson Performing Arts Center,” GFWC representatives said. “ This year’s event will feature a tribute to America’s 250th Birthday.”

Law firm hired for airport

Thompson Burton PLLC has been retained as aviation council for the Tullahoma Airport. Interim Assistant Airport Manager Gavin Dishon revealed the airport authority and Interim City Administrator Jeff Damron rated each of the applicants that applied for the council position and they unanimously agreed on Thompson Burton.

Primary elections this Tuesday

Residents planning to vote early will have until Thursday, April 30, to cast their ballots before the May 5 primary. For those who do not exercise their early voting option, the polls will open around the county on May 5 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at their local voting precinct.

Ascend wins Diamond Award

A scend Federal Credit Union, the largest credit union in Middle Tennessee, has won a coveted Diamond Award from America’s Credit Unions in the “Member or Trade Communications” category for its Possibilities newsletter. Ascend’s member newsletter was also recognized as the “Category’s Best,” earning the highest score of all other credit unions within its asset grouping.
