Wildcats log third shutout win of the season

The Tullahoma boys’ soccer team had one of its most dominant wins of the 2026 season thus far against Mt. Pleasant High School. The Wildcats tied their highest scoring total of the season against the opposing Tigers, winning by a score of 9-0.
Coming into the out-of-district matchup against the Wildcats, Mt. Pleasant had won two games in a row and had won both matchups by shutouts. The most goals they had allowed all season was in their opener against Loretto High School, where they gave up five. Despite that, Tullahoma in the matchup between the two on Saturday, March 28, continually found gaps in their defense at a scale that no one has against the opposing Tigers in 2026.
The Wildcats’ nine goals were well dispersed. Six different Tullahoma players found the back of the net in the matchup, including junior Gage Allen.
The prior game before the Wildcats took on Mt. Pleasant, where THS played Lincoln County High School, was Allen’s season debut. He was constantly helping create attacks against the Falcons, but did not generate any of his own goals from his efforts. Against the Tigers, those same attacks by Allen resulted in multiple goals for the junior.
He scored two goals in the contests, along with tacking on an assist.
The other five goal scorers for the Wildcats were senior Jude Smith (1), junior Jayden Sarabia (2), junior Kaiden Grau (1), and sophomore Jalan Escamilla (2), and sophomore Marcos Borisenko (1).
The Wildcats, with the blowout win, now have an overall record of 6-0-1 and will carry the momentum they have developed so far early in the season into their first district matchup against Battle Creek High School on Tuesday, March 31.
The opposing Grizzlies, coming off an impressive 2025 season where they had an overall record of 12-9-1 and a first-place district record of 6-1-1, have struggled early on in 2026. They currently have a record of 3-5 and have lost their last two games.
Also, the meeting between Tullahoma and Battle Creek will be the first game ever played between the two schools. The Grizzlies had their first official season as a school last season, and they and Tullahoma did not play partially because they were in different classes and districts.
