The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) will perform a full road closure on SR 130 (Old Tullahoma Road) in Franklin County to replace a failing cross‑drain culvert near Bettye Lane. The existing culvert is collapsing and has caused noticeable roadway settlement, making replacement both necessary and time‑sensitive.

The closure will begin at 5 a.m. local time on Monday, July 27, and will remain in place through 7 p.m. local time on Wednesday, July 29. The work is expected to take approximately two days, and the extended closure window allows crews flexibility to complete the repair safely and efficiently. School will not be in session during this period, reducing overall traffic impacts.

TDOT maintenance crews will implement a full traffic control plan, including advance warning signage, barricades, and flagging personnel as needed. All crews will follow standard TDOT safety procedures, including proper PPE use, equipment safety protocols, and maintaining a secure work zone perimeter.

TDOT is coordinating with law enforcement, emergency services, and county transportation officials to ensure continued access for emergency response throughout the closure. Drivers should use SR16/US 41A to detour around the closure.
