Orville Jerome “OJ” McCormick Jr, 87

Orville Jerome McCormick Jr “OJ” of Manchester passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2026. He was 87. Mr. McCormick was born in Manchester, Tennessee, and was the youngest of eight children. He graduated from Coffee County High School, Class of 1957 and joined the US Navy on November 25, 1957, and began a 21-year career serving our Country. He was assigned to USS MCCAFFERY DD-860, the USS OKLAHOMA City CLG-5 and to the USS LITTLE ROCK CLG-4. He served in Vietnam 1964-1966. He served 28 consecutive months on Yankee Station and other areas of combat with air strikes. He was awarded 4 Gold/Bronze Stars plus ribbon, Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam and Cuban Blockade, Presidential Unit Citation, and others. He was stationed at multiple Naval Bases on the East Coast and West Coast. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1977, he then went to work with Morrison & Knudsen (MK) in Tullahoma, TN at AEDC, and again going to big job sites across the Country. He retired in 1997.

Bobby Alfred Womble was born on March 16, 1934, in Moore County, TN, to Payton and Eva Patterson Womble. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in Murfreesboro, TN, on April 29, 2026.
Live on the Lawn returns May 22

The GFWC Centennial Woman’s Club of Tullahoma will be holding its sixth annual “Live on the Lawn” fundraiser on Friday, May 22, from 6 – 9 p.m. “Enjoy a concert on the lawn featuring the band, A Slice of American Pie, who will be performing on the patio stage at South Jackson Performing Arts Center,” GFWC representatives said. “ This year’s event will feature a tribute to America’s 250th Birthday.”

Roy F. Partin, 88, of Decherd, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at St. Thomas Rutherford Medical Center in Murfreesboro. A native of Franklin County, he was born on Nov. 7, 1937, to the late Beelus J. and Edith (Starnes) Partin.

Deborah L. “Debbie” Coffelt, of Tullahoma, entered into Glory on Friday, April 24th, 2026 at McArthur Manor Assisted Living in Manchester at the age of 66. Debbie was born in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Paul J. and Betty Tooley Hopkins.

Robert Blythe Tucker passed away at home after a long illness. He was preceded in death by parents Dr. Cecil Blythe and Martha Ella Page Tucker of Nashville, and sister Julia Page Tucker Rhyne of Montgomery, Alabama.
Primary elections this Tuesday
