It was a big week for America as we flexed our technological prowess in war and in space. With the help of Elon Musk, we sent our Artemis II spaceship to the dark side of the moon in an early step toward humans surviving on Mars. In college I thought I could survive on Mars but nearly ended up with Type 2 diabetes. The controversial Kristi Noem was replaced at DHS. Afterwards - and curiously - pictures surfaced of Noem’s husband showing he had some fetish with himself wearing big women’s breasts. Being a conservative Christian, Kristi said she is staying married. Maybe they can combine the Iran war and her predicament into a two-for-one Conversion Therapy class, turning both him and Hormuz Strait.

Honestly, I’m glad when schools delve into poetry or offer students some semblance of art and music appreciation classes.But I worry about society’s overreliance on critics/reviewers/ public scolds.Apparently, we would all be wandering around aimlessly if no one performed the public service of doling out expert advice on books, movies, theater, wine, home decor and the like. (“Duh…I tried putting something sophisticated on my hipster vinyl record player. Unfortunately, it was a Chardonnay wine. Compelling puff of smoke, though. Five stars to the volunteer fire department.”) Granted, if you find a critic you trust, their recommendations can save you valuable time that would otherwise be wasted on dead ends and wild goose chases. Of course, you will most likely turn around and squander the time describing your pain level to the chiropractor. (“I don’t know about a scale of 1 to 10, but it’s a rollicking, sweeping, post-modern type of pain…”) I’m a simple man (as evidenced by the fact that I still haven’t given a rave review of this whole “multicellular” experiment).

What a glorious day each Easter Sunday brings as we reflect on the stone that was rolled away to reveal Jesus was in fact alive!

As a TV news anchor, I try to avoid clichés, because they turn up on the news (local and national) a lot. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard, “The investigation is continuing,” I’d have some serious cash. I mean, that should be obvious. We all know that cops aren’t going to leave the scene and say, “You know what? I’m stumped. Let’s just go to Wendy’s and hope the whole thing blows over.” And then there’s “literally.” Reporters often say, “Police are literally combing this neighborhood for clues.” That must be one big comb.
