Liberty Tree dedicated at Veterans Park

Celebration of America 250 took place last Saturday in the city’s downtown Veterans Park with the unveiling of a Liberty Tree. The event featured Tennessee’s state tree, the tulip poplar, recently planted in the park. This ceremony was initiated by the local chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution who placed a marker to identify which tree it was. DAR presented the program with Alderman Matthew Bird and Tree Board Chairman Ralph Graham participating.

TMS baseball celebrates 8th-grade night

The Tullahoma Middle School baseball team recently played its last regular-season game of the 2026 season, against rival Coffee County Middle School. Before defeating Coffee Co. by a score of 115, the Wildcats acknowledged all of their 8th graders before the game.

Fine Arts Center hosts ‘The Art of Trees’

The Tullahoma Fine Arts Center will host “The Art of Trees,” a juried art exhibition featuring more than 90 pieces from 36 local and regional artists, during Arbor Day weekend 2026. The exhibition, presented in collaboration with the Tullahoma Tree Board and the Arts Council of Tullahoma, will premiere on National Arbor Day, Friday, April 24.

Sewanee professor meets Pope Leo

Last month, Sewanee Professor of History, former Peruvian Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, and Guggenheim Fellow Carmen McEvoy met Pope Leo XIV during a special audience at the Vatican.

4-H excels at competition

Coffee County 4-H members had an outstanding showing at the Central Region 4-H Meats Judging & Identification and Livestock Judging Contest, held at the MTSU Livestock Arena.

East Middle School Choir gets new uniforms

Thanks to the efforts of South Jackson Performing Arts Center (SJPAC), led by Greg Gressel, members of the East Middle School choir now have new choir uniforms. 71 sets of uniforms were purchased.
